"I joined MES Vidyasagar Prof. MPL Shastry PU college, in 2009. I joined the Commerce stream with an ambition to become a Chartered Accountant. The just-out-of- school boy I was then, was very apprehensive about college culture, and had concerns about ragging, which was a thing then. The college was headed by respected Late, Balu sir who addressed all of us on the date of our joining. I still remember that speech he gave, which instilled confidence in me to face the college life with courage and focus to do what is right. The next two years I spent there laid an extremely strong foundation of accounts and maths (which included some statistics aspects), thanks to the teachers. The college and its focus was always student oriented. It was personalised to an extent that I remember asking a conceptual question multiple times straight and the teachers patiently explained it to me again and again (thanks, Rajalakshmi ma'am for BRS and Suja ma'am for linear equation). These conceptual clarity and foundation it laid helped me greatly during my CA course. It still helps me earn my bread and butter as a CA working with a Big4. I'm forever grateful to this college for its absolute focus on students, college culture and friendly approach teachers have."
